Director, KPC Dayschool
KPC Day School was founded in September 1982. We started off with just a half-day dayschool program and have grown, as the needs in our community have grown, to include two-day per week, three-day per week, five-day per week, kindergarten and after-school care options.
No. While many of our families live in Virginia Beach, we have many students who live in Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth or other nearby cities. We are situated near the heart of Kempsville, so we tend to draw a lot of families from nearby, but we are a private school and there are no residential restrictions.
KPC Day School is a Religious Exempt Childcare Center. While our Educational Program is exempt from licensing, we adhere to all other local and state laws as they may pertain to us. For example, our food staff are licensed and we have food health inspections and certifications.
KPC Day School does not teach any church doctrine. We teach the Bible truths that Jesus loves us and died for us, and that Jesus wants us to be kind and loving to each other. We teach about Creation, Noah, Moses, Jesus's whole life and many more wonderful stories that are in the Bible. More may be found on our Curriculum pages via the menu links above.
This depends on the class level. The teachers for our 3-year-old and 4-year-old dayschool classes must have an Associate and/or Baccalaureate Degree in Education or be in pursuit of a degree in Early Childhood. Our Kindergarten Teachers must have at least a Baccalaureate Degree in Education K-3. All teachers need to be able to share the Bible, the love of Jesus, and be able to pray with the children.
The Educational Material/Costume Fee covers 2 music program costumes, paper, paints, glue, crayons, scissors, tissues, and other school supplies. We do not send home a supply list of things you need to bring into school.
No. There is a Virginia Beach Public School bus, that comes to our school for our beforecare and aftercare program, that picks up children attending Fairfield Elementary School. Some parents arrange car pooling on their own.
